Max Verstappen will come to the Qatar Grand Prix as 2024 world champion. However, the Red Bull Racing driver does not plan to stop there and expects to compete on the Losail circuit.
Max Verstappen: “Winning the World Championship was an incredible moment and I am very proud of the team and myself. This success means a lot to us because I never thought I would become a four-time world champion. I thank everyone who was part of this success.
What a season we have had! We went through difficult moments, but stayed united, never gave up and came back stronger. All this made the season so special.
When we talk about Qatar, we are still focused on the race. The sprint format means we’re in for a busy weekend. The season is not over yet and we want to continue attacking in the next two races and earn as many points as possible for the team.”
Sergio Perez: “The weekend in Las Vegas was positive because we had speed in the race and we looked more competitive throughout the race.
For the remaining two Grands Prix I need to do a better job in qualifying and make sure the car is always running in the optimal range so that I can start in the positions I need.
In Qatar we have to solve completely different problems than in Las Vegas, so it will be interesting to see how the car performs on a different tarmac and under completely different temperature conditions. The sprint weekend format means we have less time to prepare, but I have been at the team base this week to be as prepared as possible for the start of work on Friday.”
