Guanyu Zhou still has two races left for Sauber. The Chinese driver will not compete in Formula 1 next season, but expects to remain in the championship as a reserve driver. After the finish of the race in Las Vegas, Zhou said he was negotiating a contract with Ferrari for 2025.
Guanyu Zhou: “We are negotiating with several teams and Ferrari remains one of those that are really interested in me. Let’s see. A lot will happen in the coming weeks and we will have to make decisions.
We will explore all available options and then understand where we will end up. Now I don’t want to confirm anything because we have to agree on everything first. But I’m ready to fully concentrate on the next project. I hope everything will be resolved soon.
I think clarity will come in the coming weeks. I have a clear idea of what I want, but nothing has been signed yet. You have to find the right time for this. No one has discussed the details yet, but we are working on it.”
