Carlos Sainz will continue his career with Williams next season. It was initially thought that the Spanish driver would drive a British team car for the first time during post-season testing in Abu Dhabi, which takes place on December 10, but Williams has changed plans.
The team still had one of the two days of recording left and Williams rented the Yas Marina circuit for Monday 9 December to work with Carlos. During a shooting day you are not allowed to travel more than two hundred kilometers, i.e. about 35 laps, but this time is still enough to correctly adjust the seat, and Sainz got used to his new cockpit.
Carlos Sainz’s contract with Ferrari runs until December 31, but Scuderia head Frederic Vasseur released him from his obligations earlier than planned. However, Carlos will not have any Williams sponsor logos on his racing suit during testing.
