Verstappen won the Qatar Grand Prix, Leclerc finished second, Norris received a penalty

Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won the Qatar Grand Prix, which ended in Doha.

Verstappen took his ninth victory in the 2024 season. A week ago, during a stop in Las Vegas, the 27-year-old driver became four-time Formula 1 champion ahead of schedule.

Second place in the race went to Monaco’s Charles Leclerc of the Ferrari team, with the top three completed by Australian McLaren driver Oscar Piastri. This season’s vice-leader, Lando Norris, battled with Verstappen for the race victory, but was fined for speeding under yellow flags and finished 10th.

The best driver of the day at the Qatar Grand Prix was Guanyu Zhou, who finished eighth and took Kick Sauber’s first points of the season.

The final stage of the championship will take place in Abu Dhabi from December 6 to 8. The decisive race will determine the winner of the Manufacturers’ Championship.
