Red Bull racer Max Verstappen condemned the behavior of the Mercedes driver George Russell during the Qatar Grand Prix.
After qualifying, Verstappen was called before the stewards and penalized a starting position for blocking Russell during the warm-up lap. Russell made his statement to the stewards. As a result, Russell started the race from first place and qualifying winner Verstappen from second. The Red Bull driver disagreed with the commissioner’s decision and accused Russell of cheating.
“Of course, this isn’t the first time in my life that I’ve been in this meeting room with the people I’m running on the track with. But I’ve never seen anyone (among the runners) try so hard to deceive others. Personally, I have lost all respect for Russell,” quotes Verstappen, Autosport, in reference to PlanetF1.
On December 1, Verstappen won the Qatar Grand Prix. Russell finished fourth.
