Lewis Hamilton still has two Grands Prix to go with Mercedes, but the Briton hopes they can communicate and interact in the future.
Lewis Hamilton: “I have always said about Mercedes that it is really a family. When you drive for Mercedes, you become part of the family forever. That’s why the decision to leave was so difficult for me.
If you look at the riders of yesteryear, they remain part of the team until their last breath. Mercedes always welcomes them warmly and honors them.
When making a decision, we always feared that it would be the end of everything we had built. But I believe this is not the case. I will always be part of Mercedes history. In the future, I can always go back and visit the museum and feel like I was part of the history of this brand.
We have worked together a lot and experienced a lot. I hope Mercedes and I don’t burn any bridges. I think they will stand the test of time.”
