Next week, the first-ever Miami Grand Prix will take place on the track around the Hard Rock Stadium sports complex, home of the Miami Dolphins football club.
McLaren boss Zack Brown thinks the atmosphere on the track during the Formula 1 round will resemble that of the Super Bowl, the last game of the American football season. Brown said his team was the largest buyer of invited tickets to the race (about 1,000 people, including world celebrities), but demand far outstripped supply.
Zach Brown: “We are in for a great stage. I’ve been with McLaren for six years and I’ve never seen such excitement and demand for a Grand Prix as in Miami. We are already the largest buyers of guest tickets and could double that. The question “Are you coming to the race in Miami?” already comparable in popularity to the question “Are you coming to the Super Bowl?”
I’ve been in Formula 1 for about 20 years and I’m used to racing Grand Prix, but I’ve never seen anything like it. So much hype and so many celebrities reminds me of the Super Bowl vibe.”
