At the Belgian Grand Prix, Pirelli will bring the “average” trio of compositions – C2, C3 and C4. After last year’s stage, the track was rebuilt – in particular the configuration of the Krasnaya Voda bend was changed. The head of the Pirelli racing division, Mario Isola, said tire manufacturers are waiting for the revamped track.
Mario Isola: “This year’s Spa circuit has seen some of the biggest changes we’ve seen in the modern history of Formula 1. However, we already know what to expect with last month’s 24-hour race. It was the biggest competition on the track in terms of participants and tire workers, which made it possible to evaluate the new asphalt.
In addition to new asphalt in five corners, four new gravel traps have been made, which will be closer to the track. As a result, riders will have to pay more attention to the boundaries of the track and the likelihood of gravel hitting the track increases.
However, the grandiose character of the Spa has remained unchanged and all the traditional challenges that make the circuit so exciting have not disappeared.”
