The FIA has named the eight finalists of the annual Girls on Track – Rising Stars competition (“Girls on the Track – Rising Stars”), held at the famous Winfield racing school on the French circuit in Le Castellet.
Four of them are in the senior age group, four in the junior age group, and now they will have to fight for the right to study at the Ferrari Racing Academy (FDA), which only the best will receive. The final round of the competition will take place in the fall according to the FDA.
This is the third time such competitions have been held and in November the older girls will come to Maranello where they will attend a special program, study the theory of racing and pass various tests, assessing their physical fitness and degree of ability, as well as their ability to communicate with the team will be tested, and the press. They will also work on a Ferrari simulator and compete on the Fiorano circuit in Formula 4 cars.
The senior group includes riders born in 2006-2008, these are Alice Buckley (Australia), Chloe Chong and Chloe Grant (both from the UK), as well as Aurelia Nobels (Belgium).
The main aim of the program is to prepare them for the transition to Formula 4. The most talented finalists will have the opportunity to participate in the Ferrari Racing Academy.
Girls from the junior group (born 2008-2010) will compete for the right to spend the season in international karting with funding from the FDA – these are Lisa Billard (France), Zoya Florescu Potolea (Italy), Sarah Matsui (Japan) and Mathilde Paatz (Germany).
