At a press conference the day before, Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali revealed that the French Grand Prix will not be included on the 2023 calendar. However, holding the race at the Paul Ricard circuit will be possible in the future if the organizers agree to alternate the Formula 1 round with another country.
On Thursday, the organizers of the French Grand Prix released an official statement in which they actually agreed with Domenicali’s condition.
“The organizers of the French Grand Prix have taken note of Formula 1 president Stefano Domenicali’s words about the absence of our podium in the 2023 season calendar,” the statement said. “Following the successful implementation of the event in 2022, race organisers, Formula 1 and all stakeholders will continue to work to ensure that the event is listed on the calendar in the future as part of the stages rotation system.
The organizers of the French Grand Prix would like to thank all customers, the managers of the Paul Ricard circuit and all partners for their continued support.”
