Yuki Tsunoda: There’s no point yelling on the radio!

In the debut season, Yuki Tsunoda often lost his cool, as eloquently evidenced by his radio conversations with an engineer, where the Japanese periodically turned to screaming. In 2022, Yuki communicates more calmly with the team – the AlphaTauri racer explained this by learning to control emotions.

“I feel I have better control of my emotions than last year,” Racingnews365 quotes Yuki. – At the current stage of the season last year, I was not in full control of myself. I didn’t know how to behave and every lap I was attacking to the limit, and that’s what made things like that happen.

In reality, those problems forced me to cultivate. It was a very good school – every time I solved a problem I got better as a rider. I was able to take a step forward, earning points today. Compared to last year I have made huge progress, especially on race pace.

Sometimes I yell while driving, but at times like that I don’t press the radio button. Compared to last year, this is a big step forward. I try to keep calm – I realized there was no point in yelling on the radio. It is much better to say in a calm voice that you do not like it.”
