Christian Horner, Team Principal: “Max was an incredible qualifying. The timing of his first attempt in the final was so good that a second was not necessary. Max is incredible this weekend.

Tomorrow he will start 15th, which is always risky, but we have a fantastic race ahead of us as Max and Charles make their way through the pack.

Sergio qualified brilliantly, he will fight Carlos at the forefront. Taking the example of Sebastian, Daniel and Max, we remember how great the slipstream works here in the beginning when attacking with a closed DRS. We discussed this beforehand and decided that second place at the start here is even better than first.

Max Verstappen (1st): “Great qualification. The car is fast all weekend, it is very pleasant to drive it in the Spa. Overnight we corrected something – and everything worked.

I’m very happy with my lap and happy to be here – it’s a great track with great fans. I hope they liked it too. Tomorrow I will start from behind, so today I was careful with the tyres. With a machine like that, it would be a shame not to be on the podium tomorrow, that’s our goal.”

Sergio Perez (3rd): “Good, but not a great qualifier. I had a bad first lap in the final, then I had problems with a little damage to the bottom, but second place is not a bad position at the start of tomorrow’s race.

Tomorrow I will fight for the win. The most important thing is to start well, get through the first lap cleanly and ride at a good pace. Pole is not a big advantage here, if you get close to Carlos in Eau Rogue you can attack and take the lead which I will try to do.
