At the Spa tire factor again became one of the main factors over the weekend, but there were no reliability issues…
Mario IsolaPirelli: “The circuit in Spa is unique, it was nice to know that it will remain on the calendar next season.
This year the podium was a great success. Over the weekend, 360,000 spectators witnessed a spectacular show with lots of overtaking – our tires played a key role.
We saw a great race where most of the riders used hard tires for the distance. We will analyze everything carefully, but to hear on the radio that the lap time was two tenths of a second faster than expected is a fantastic achievement for us.
We knew it would be warmer on Sunday than on Friday and Saturday, but it was interesting to see how many different strategies were used, given the changing weather, track conditions and more than expected tire wear.
There was no problem with bubbling, the tire degradation was mainly due to overheating. We had no problems with the reconstruction of the route. We congratulate Red Bull on their double win and impressive race speed.”
