At Spa, only Sebastian Vettel scored points for Aston Martin, while Lance Stroll finished 11th…
Sebastian Vettel (8th): “Eighth place is a good result. I was a bit unlucky at the second pit stop. I returned to the track right behind Gasly and lost a lap behind him, allowing Okon on new tires to reduce the advantage I had built up over the course.
In the race we were again more competitive than in qualifying. I had a good start, I found the optimal rhythm, I put pressure on the Alpine riders. A seventh place was possible, but today they were too fast for us. Still, we managed to score important points for the team.”
Lance Walk (11th): “Difficult day. I almost earned points, but things didn’t go quite as we had hoped.
Losing a few positions at the start of the race made it difficult for me, but I had some interesting duels. Later I got stuck in a group of cars chasing Albon – in the end, enough wasn’t enough.
Today we had a good race pace, again we were able to get more out of the car when it mattered.
