Mercedes boss Toto Wolf has reacted to the Spanish Alpin driver Fernando Alonso after the incident on the first lap of the Belgian Grand Prix called the British driver Lewis Hamilton idiot.
Hamilton’s car jumped after he and Alonso collided on the opening lap. FIA stewards looked into the incident but did not sanction anyone. Alonso also said on the radio: “This guy only knows how to drive and start first.”
Hamilton retired from the race after the incident, Alonso eventually finished fifth.
