Max Verstappen, starting from 14th position, confidently won the Belgian Grand Prix – the world champion was indeed clearly the fastest all weekend. This is the Red Bull Racing driver’s ninth win this season and it looks like no one can stop him from clinching a second title in a row.
Max Verstappen: “The first lap was quite chaotic, so it was important to avoid problems – so much happened for me! But as soon as the safety car left the track and the situation stabilised, my car went like it was on rails!
I picked good places to overtake rivals and we managed to save tires – this puts us on the way forward. And when we took the lead, it was important to keep everything under control – this weekend everything went incredibly well overall!
I’m really happy because I couldn’t even imagine that everything would go so well, but we’re aiming for new wins, so we’ll keep working hard. Today I liked everything, but let’s see what we can achieve in a week in Zandvoort.
