Aston Martin drivers Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll believe the team will face a difficult weekend at Zandvoort due to the AMR21 car not being fast enough in qualifying mode and difficult to overtake at the Dutch circuit.
Sebastian Vettel: “Zandvoort has a great old school circuit that drivers love so much, a very special first part of the lap.
I’m curious how the car will show itself, but in theory we are waiting for a difficult weekend. However, we performed well on the podium in Hungary before the summer break, although the track there is similar in characteristics to Zandvoort.
With 2022 cars you can fight harder than last year. Let’s see if we can overtake in the race.”
Lance Walk: “I am looking forward to returning to Zandvoort. The track is spectacular and the stage itself is really cool.
The team faces a tough weekend – our car looks better in races than in qualifying, and given the twisty nature of the track, it will be difficult to overtake. But maybe we’ll get the chance to change something through a different strategy than our rivals.”
