Before moving to McLaren, Daniel Ricciardo played for Renault for two years – and is ready to return to this team, now called Alpine…
Daniel Riccardo: “I have already said that I want to continue my career, but only under the right circumstances. It is important that it is a competitive car, and there are simply no other factors.
Back to Alpine? Yes, it is possible. We parted ways quite harmoniously, although this happened before the start of the season. But then there was Covid-19, everything happened.
It was a little awkward at first, but then the racing started, we spent the whole season and I did everything I could to make it a success.
Alpine team principal Otmar Szafnauer did not rule out Ricciardo’s return: “The team is very pleased with Daniel and the time he spent with the team. Every engineer I asked told me that Ricciardo is a great driver and a great motivator for the team.”
