The Williams drivers were at the bottom of Friday’s protocol, explaining that the Zandvoort track was not suitable for the FW44.
Alex Albon (17th): “Although we didn’t have a good day today, the car made a good impression overall, despite it being quite windy.
The balance of power has changed this weekend as this track has very different characteristics. Overall, it doesn’t fit our car very well, so we’re having a hard time. But I think we already know what needs to be improved. It’s important to try and have time for it tomorrow, because qualifying is very important at this track.
Hopefully we can make some changes to the settings that will allow us to speed up the machine’s pace – the task is now just that.
Nicholas Latific (20th): “Today was a difficult day for the team, especially for me. Of course after the first practice it was difficult to judge anything because the characteristics of the track here are completely different, especially as it is very windy today and felt more in some corners than in others.
In any case, I had a lot of problems today, so I have to work to find the right rhythm in terms of pilots, and also to improve the balance.
This is a difficult track, here you have to feel the car very well, so everything will be analyzed carefully in the evening so that I can drive the remaining days of the weekend with more confidence.”
