At Zandvoort, Mick Schumacher had an excellent result, qualifying eighth, and his teammate Kevin Magnussen dropped out in the first session…
Mick Schumacher (8th): “It’s always nice to make it to the final, so today I’m happy with my performance. Honestly, I didn’t expect to get this high – we expected to end the fight in the second session, but I moved on and in the final I was able to repeat the time shown in the second session – a decent result and a good starting position in the race.
We didn’t make any major changes, focusing on the details – this weekend we guessed right away with the settings, which always helps. This allows you to add confidence – and be faster.”
Kevin Magnussen (18th): “In the morning it seemed that everything was fine, but for some reason the speed disappeared. After the first try at the start of qualifying, the car looked good, but for some reason we didn’t get the grip boost that everyone else was getting. I was able to play only two tenths, and the others – a second. Tomorrow I will attack, we will see what happens in the end.”
