There were more pit stops at Zandvoort than Pirelli predicted, but strategy played a big part in the race…
Mario IsolaPirelli: “We saw an exciting emotional race, in which the different strategies played a key role, made possible by the slight degradation of the Soft tires and the efficient Hard tires. The virtual, and then the real safety car, held the intrigue all the way to the finish and the new regulations increased the number of overtakes.
We saw the orange sea in the Zandvoort stands and I would like to add another color – white, in honor of the stripe on the sidewalls of the Hard tires, which became one of the main factors of the race. They let you ride at a very fast pace and hardly wear out. Improved track conditions over the weekend allowed them to maximize their performance on race day – and many teams have adapted their strategy to use this lineup. ”
