Factory Mercedes Formula E driver Stoffel Vandorn will continue his career with the DS team in 2023 in partnership with Penske. The Belgian will be working with Jean-Eric Vergne.
Edition The Race claims about the agreements made between Vandorn, DS and Penske. An official statement on the collaboration is expected in the summer. At the same time, Stoffel will not be able to drive for the Peugeot team in the FIA WEC in the hypercar category, although DS and Peugeot belong to the same parent company.
Earlier, the head of Stellantis Motorsport Jean-Eric Fino said only one of the DS team’s drivers in Formula E can compete in the FIA WEC at a time. With Jean-Eric Vergne already selected by Peugeot, Vandoorne will be able to fully focus on a career in the electric racing class.
“I am very confident that I will start in Formula E next year with a third generation car and it is quite clear in which team,” said Stoffel Vandorn in Monaco last weekend.
