An unusual exhibition called “The Art of Braking” and organized by the famous Italian company Brembo has opened at the Museum of Cultures of Milan. This company, founded in 1961, develops and produces braking systems for both the mass production of the automotive industry and motorsport, in particular it has historically very close links with Ferrari.
But Brembo brakes are on the cars of many Formula 1 teams, not just Ferrari, they are also used by Mercedes, Aston Martin and others.
Using modern multimedia tools, the interactive exhibit shows how the braking systems, originally hidden somewhere in the car, have now become a highly visible design element. It was Brembo who could force the automotive world to rethink its attitude to these key systems, without which no vehicle can do.
The Art of Braking is a variety of interactive installations, video artworks, light shows, etc. Through all these visual aids, visitors to the exhibition learn about the evolution of braking systems, about the modern technologies used by their creators, about how Brembo brakes directly are associated with the world of car and motorcycle racing.
Italian braking systems are now used in Formula 1, Formula E, MotoGP and other racing series around the world. The elements of such systems are, of course, brake discs, brake calipers, etc. – are widely represented at the fair and the organizers have tried to present all this as well and informatively as possible.
It was no coincidence that the exhibition opened for the race weekend in Monza, and motorsport fans can not limit themselves to visiting the Italian Grand Prix, but also visit the Museo delle Culture in Milan and make sure that in the modern world even fulfill car brakes not only their function, but also have a great aesthetic value.
