Albon is angry he couldn’t compete for points

Williams rider Alex Albon scored points in three rounds of the season and hoped to finish in the top ten at Zandvoort, but circumstances prevented that. However, he believes that if the virtual safety car mode (VSC) had not been introduced after Yuki Tsunoda’s car stopped on the track, he would have had a chance to compete for at least 10th place.

Alex Albon: “To be honest, I was even surprised that we were able to set a relatively good pace. I assumed we will have a harder time in the race than it was in reality. But on Sunday the wind died down, and that had a big impact on the speed, and we went faster.

Overall, we might not have finished in the top ten without the introduction of VSC mode, but at least we would have been fighting for points. By the way, I still don’t understand what happened to Yuki’s car, why he went to the track several times, returned to the pits and then left again …

In the end I finished 12th which is a bit disappointing. A lot happened to us during the race, but together with the team we acted clearly, made the right decisions, but we didn’t earn anything. Now let’s get ready for Monza. Theoretically, this track should suit our car better.”
