Red Bull Advanced Technology and Swiss company BMC have unveiled the result of a joint project they’ve been working on for nearly four years – according to a press release, this is the world’s fastest racing bike.
The technology division of Red Bull and BMC Switzerland started the project in 2018 with the intention of creating a high-speed engine that would use Formula 1 technologies in the development process.
Red Bull’s aerodynamics were able to accurately simulate the bike’s behavior on the track using CFD data, while Red Bull’s engineers helped BMC find the optimal design solutions to maximize efficiency.
The project also actively involved Swiss professional cyclist Fabian Cancellara, Olympic medalist and winner of individual stages of the Tour de France.
The bike will undergo its first combat test this weekend at the Ironman World Triathlon Championships in Utah, where it will be ridden by Patrick Nilsson of the BMC Pro Triathlon Team.
