Australian Daniel Ricardo could soon become a reserve pilot “Mercedes” reports the Daily Mail.
According to the publication, the management of the German team considers the Australian as the main driver in 2024, as Lewis Hamilton may decide to put an end to his professional career.
“Mercedes is thinking of Ricciardo just in case.[Hamilton]would leave at the end of next season. If Ricciardo is signed, George Russell will be the team leader from 2024,” the source said.
Earlier it was learned that Ricciardo will be leaving McLaren at the end of this season. The Australian takes 13th place in the standings with 19 points.
