It was announced three weeks ago that Daniel Ricciardo will say goodbye to McLaren after the season. Asked in Monza about what has changed in his job since then, the Australian said the changes only apply to the 2023 car.
Daniel Ricciardo: “When this happened, I asked the team if I could work less on the simulator now? (laughs) Just kidding!
No, after everything was decided and announced, my schedule regarding this year has not changed in any way. The task is the same – to get the most out of the car in the remaining races.
When it comes to a car for next season, I don’t get involved. But I didn’t expect to be attracted to this project. Otherwise, everything is the same – I work on the simulator, participate in briefings, meetings, communicate with engineers. In all matters related to the current season, everything remained unchanged.
