Pilot test “Ferrari » Robert Schwartzman Tuesday, he took part in a test session at the Fiorano circuit, according to the press service of the Formula 1 team.
The Russian spent several hours at the wheel of last year’s SF21 team car with Ferrari’s reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi of Italy. Schwartzman is preparing for the two Formula 1 free practice sessions the 22-year-old will take part in this season.
It is unclear when exactly Schwartzman will perform in training. He will temporarily replace one of Ferrari’s combat drivers – the Monegasque Charles Leclerc or the Spaniard Carlos Sainz.
Previously, Schwartzman had obtained an Israeli license in order to retain the right to race in the event of a complete suspension of Russian drivers by the International Automobile Federation (FIA). At the moment, Russian Alexander Smolyar is racing in Formula 3 under a neutral flag.
