Verstappen will lose five places at the start of the Italian Grand Prix, Sainz and Hamilton will start the race at the end of the grid

The current world champion and leader of the Formula 1 championship Max Verstappen will lose five places on the grid of the Italian Grand Prix, according to the press service of the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

A Dutch Red Bull driver has been fined for replacing an internal combustion engine. His Mexican teammate Sergio Perez will drop 10 places as the replacement of power plant components in his car also exceeded the allowed rate.

Finnish Alfa Romeo driver Valtteri Bottas will lose 15 places for replacing engine and gearbox parts. Spaniard Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Briton Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Japanese Yuki Tsunoda (Alfa Tauri) will start the race at Monza at the end of the grid. The final position of the drivers will depend on who leads in qualifying.

The Italian Grand Prix takes place at the Monza circuit from September 9 to 11.
