The Italian Grand Prix ended behind the safety car. Red Bull Racing head Christian Horner is dissatisfied with race management’s decision not to resume the battle on the track.
Christian Horner: “We don’t want to win the race by finishing behind the safety car. We’ve been talking for many, many years about the fact that the direction of the race should provide the opportunity to finish in race mode. They had enough time to resume the race.
We have the fastest car at our disposal and we would have won the race on track, not behind the safety car. We share the disappointment of all the fans who had the chance to see the finish. Such a decision is contrary to the principles we have discussed in the past. The fans lost most of this. We need to solve this problem quickly.
I believe there was enough time to resume the race. We need to study the details, but Ricciardo didn’t crash into the guardrail, but stopped the car on the side of the track.
