Sergio Perez: One day I will settle in Miami

Red Bull Racing is the only team with both drivers to start in the top four at every Grand Prix this season. For Sergio Perez, the upcoming leg is almost home, Hispanics make up more than 70% of Miami’s population – and after the end of his career he is ready to settle there…

Max Verstappen: Crazy weekend ahead. I’m really looking forward to the race in Miami, I prepared for it in the simulator for a long time – I did everything I could without visiting the track. I’ve always enjoyed racing in Austin, it’s great that we’re going to race in a different state now.

Formula 1 is actively promoting our sport, we are holding more and more races here in the US, making it more and more popular step by step.

With new cars this year it’s easier to chase and overtake rivals, different teams are fighting for wins – for the fans this is the most important. Hopefully we have an exciting weekend. Miami is a very beautiful city, a great place for the Grand Prix. Now not only the riders are excited, but also the fans.”

Sergio Perez: “I’m glad we’re racing in Miami this week. It’s great that Formula 1’s presence in America is expanding, Miami is very close to my home, maybe one day I’ll settle there. This is an important market for Formula 1, many Latin Americans and Mexicans will come to the race, I hope they will support me.

Our team is waiting for a very important race. It’s not easy to deal with such complex logistics, but the team is doing everything they can so that we can fully concentrate on piloting.

I liked the track in Miami on the simulator. Given the long straights, the main task will be to choose the optimal level of downforce.

Now every weekend I fight for poles and podiums – this is a great motivation to keep working. I look forward to more every weekend and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish in Miami.”
