Aston Martin racers were unable to finish in Monza – Vettel retired due to power plant problems and Stroll was removed from the race to save the life of the engine – there was still no chance of points…
Sebastian Vettel (get off): “Unfortunately, due to a problem with ERS, I had to stop the car. I felt a decrease in strength and then I was told to stop.
Overall, the weekend was tough for us. I was hoping to do well in the race but the car didn’t have enough speed and then there was a problem that led to retirement. The atmosphere this weekend was great, thanks to the fans for their support.”
Lance Walk (retirement): “There was a problem with the car, so we decided to get out to save the engine. It’s a shame we didn’t compete this weekend, but in Formula 1 it sometimes happens.
We need to understand why we have such problems on this track, and draw conclusions. Three weeks later we have a track in Singapore where we should be more competitive.”
