At Monza, Max Verstappen took his fifth win in five Grands Prix, but won the race for the first time on the classic Italian circuit.
Max Verstappen: “We had a great race! We were fastest on tires of all compounds and it’s good that the relegation was quite low. Overall the car worked perfectly and I had no problems controlling the breakout in the last part of the distance.
Unfortunately, at the end, when the safety car left the track, the restart was not announced, but for us it was another good day.
It all started with the fact that I had a very good start, conquered the first chicane without any problems and quickly got into the right rhythm. Over the course of the whole distance we worked well with rubber and overall it was a lot of fun to fly although it is quite hot today. All in all a great day for our team!
I won a race at Monza for the first time, it took a long time to win, but in the end we were able to climb to the top of this legendary podium.”
