The International Automobile Federation has selected Siemens as “Official PLM Software Provider for Sustainability”. In line with the agreement reached, the FIA has implemented solutions from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to support sustainability efforts in all championships held under the auspices of the federation, including Formula 1.
Using Siemens Xcelerator solutions will help organize remote work and therefore reduce CO2 emissions through less travel. The implementation of the software will help achieve the FIA’s target of zero emissions by 2030.
Mohammed Ben SulayemFIA President: “As innovation and sustainability are two of the key guiding principles of the FIA, we are delighted to welcome Siemens as an official supplier and to use their software solutions in our work in Formula 1 and other series.
Innovative partnerships like this highlight our commitment to achieving zero emissions by 2030 and show how motorsport can be part of the solution to the challenges we face.”
