Alex Palou won’t drive for McLaren in IndyCar

Last summer, the story happened in the IndyCar series, which then repeated itself in Formula 1 with the participation of Oscar Piastri – Chip Ganassi Racing announced a contract extension with Alex Palou for 2023, but a few hours later Palou announced on social networks that this was a mistake and he will not play for the team next season. After some time, a message came about the contract between Alex and McLaren Racing.

Contractual proceedings have been initiated between the two teams, with the parties reaching an agreement that Palou would continue to drive for Chip Ganassi Racing, but at the same time could work on McLaren tests that took place in Formula Auto 1 last year. McLaren did not settle the matter. on the back burner and already this week in Barcelona Palou is behind the wheel of the MCL35M.

The Arrow McLaren SP team, which plays in the IndyCar series, will include Felix Rosenquist, Pato O’Ward and Alexander Rossi in 2023.

“I am delighted to announce that Chip Ganassi Racing and I have reached an agreement that I will be behind the wheel of the #10 car again next year,” Alex Palou wrote on social media. “I am also grateful to the team for allowing me to test the Formula 1 car with McLaren.”
