Seven manufacturers participate in Formula E. confirmed

On April 28, the official presentation of the third-generation Formula E car (Gen3), which will be used by the electric racing series for the upcoming ninth season, will take place in Monaco. The FIA ​​has today confirmed seven automakers that will race Gen3 cars.

The list includes: DS Automobiles (France), Jaguar (UK), Mahindra Racing (India), Maserati (Italy), NIO 333 (UK and China), Nissan (Japan), Porsche (Germany).

The full list of participating teams will be published later in 2022.

The makers of the new third-generation car claim it will be the most efficient racing technology in the world – at least 40% of the energy used in the race will be regenerated during braking.

It will also be the first car in this class to be powered on both axles: 250 kW will be delivered to the front wheels, 350 kW to the rear. Including the energy generated during braking, the driver has up to 600 kW at his disposal, more than twice as much as the 2nd generation cars.

With an electric powertrain of 350 kW (470 hp), the machine is smaller and lighter than the Gen2 and the top speed increases to 320 km/h.
