Next year Lance Stroll’s partner in Aston Martin F1 will be Fernando Alonso, a two-time world champion who may already be considered a motorsport veteran, but at 41 he still shows an enviable speed and superb physical fitness.
Lance is almost half his age, but when asked about his expectations for the upcoming partnership with the famous Spaniard, he replied: “The expectations are very high as he is a very aggressive rider. You see, in his 40 years he still loves Formula 1 and still passionately wants to succeed.
I think it will be very interesting and fun to work with him – this will be another partner of mine who has experience in winning the World Cup. And Fernando is also looking forward to working with our team.”
But the Canadian Aston Martin driver also spoke very warmly about Sebastian Vettel, his current team-mate: “He’s a great guy and always reminds me that it’s very important to just enjoy the work no matter what. Seb often said this to me after difficult weekends and in some other situations.
He always supports me, he is a great partner, so I can only say good things about him.
