The championship calendar for 2023 has not yet been approved, but we have already published a possible version of it. Notably, next year’s Monaco Grand Prix is scheduled for May 28, and this is confirmed by the announcement made today by the Auto Club de Monaco.
They are starting to recruit marshals for next year’s races, and this document has two dates: on May 6 the famous city circuit is supposed to host the Formula E round and on May 28 the Monaco Grand Prix will be held there. Admittedly, there is an asterisk next to this date, as the final version of the seasonal calendar will be published later.
The text of the announcement is worth noting: “Are you a motorsport enthusiast and want to become a member of the prestigious Council of Stewards of the Automobile Club of Monaco? Then don’t waste your time and apply.
How do you become a marshal?
Read the extracts from the internal regulations of the Board of Stewards of the Motor Club, meet all the conditions to apply and fill in the attached form.
If your application is approved, you will be invited to a meeting on March 2, 2023, after which you will go through the training and marshal induction phase on April 15-16 to receive the necessary training.
Obviously we are talking about recruiting new volunteers as Monaco has always been famous for having very experienced marshals working at the races, who as a rule deal quickly and accurately with all situations that arise during the races . And as young people join their ranks, the new marshals will have to work with real professionals and learn from them the wisdom of this important issue.
