All 15 points Haas F1 currently has came from Kevin Magnussen. Mick Schumacher is one of two riders who have not scored any points this season, other than Nico Hulkenberg. Team leader Günther Steiner explains this by the density of the battle in the middle group…
Günther Steiner: “The battle in the middle group of teams is so close that if you do something wrong at the weekend, it is very difficult to earn points. Kevin scored points in all races except one, I think Mick can finish in the top ten but he needs to have a perfect weekend for that.
Once he earns the first points, things get easier. He will be able to throw off this burden and think about how he can achieve more.
Kevin has a lot of experience in Formula 1. Mick has the opportunity to compare himself to him, to observe his work – the situation is completely different from last year, which is very positive. I’m very happy with it.”
