Red Bull will be able to supply engines to four teams

The production capacity of Red Bull Powertrains is sufficient to supply the next generation of power plants to four Formula 1 teams. This was announced by head Christian Horner, adding that only two teams will get engines in the first phase – Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri.

“Our infrastructure allows us to produce engines for four teams, but this is not a primary task,” Race fans quoted the head of Red Bull Racing as saying. – The original goal is to supply power plants to two teams owned by Red Bull.

Our train has already left for the 2026 annual station. We have a working prototype of the engine and all the necessary dynamometers – we are ready to go. If Honda considers returning to Formula 1, we will take this factor into account. This interest could relate to cooperation on electrical issues or other potential synergies – in either case the discussion will be interesting. However, if we talk directly about the combustion engine, its mechanical component, then we are already preparing for 2026 and we are satisfied with the chosen course.

As soon as we announced our decision to make our own engine, we were told that we would be mad if we started doing something like Ferrari, Mercedes, Renault and possibly Honda from the start. However, this is Red Bull’s way – to achieve the impossible. We were told the same when we decided to build the chassis ourselves.

Taking into account the number of people employed and the amount of investment, our engine building project is the largest in the UK in the last forty years. All this has attracted phenomenally talented engineers, whom we continue to recruit, and we will be announcing new names in the near future.

Following Honda’s decision to leave, we have made a strategically logical investment to take the future into our own hands rather than relying on external suppliers as a customer team.”
