Leclerc tested the Ferrari 312 F1

A lot changed at Ferrari in 1969 and the result of these changes was the appearance of the Ferrari 312 F1 chassis, made by Stefano Jacopponi. Not too fast, completely unreliable, but revered by collectors. It was the first Formula 1 car to be equipped with a rear wing.

According to Ferrari’s press office, the new owner of the car has asked Ferrari Classiche specialists to fully restore it to its original specifications, including the Tipo 242C engine, so that it can participate in historic races. When the work was done, Charles Leclerc was called to test the car.

Charles became something of an expert on historic Ferraris, having driven a 1951 375 F1, a 1975 312 T and a 1979 312 T4.

Charles Leclerc: “I am delighted to be able to test this car. Driving a Ferrari 312 F1 after my current F1-75 is like entering a completely different sport, although every Ferrari gives you absolutely incredible emotions.
