The day before, Formula 1 announced the signing of a new three-year contract to host the Monaco Grand Prix. The experts at the GPFans publication decided to check in which year the contracts to hold each Formula 1 round will expire.
Next year may be the last for the stages in Belgium, the Netherlands and Mexico City. With Belgian Spa, the contract for 2023 was only extended because the organizers of the race in South Africa did not have time to complete preparations for the next season. It is likely that if a new contract is signed with Spa, there will be a clause in it about alternating the race with another stage, for example with the French.
The contract with the Mexican Grand Prix was set to expire in 2022, but was automatically extended for another year to make up for missing the race in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
There is no doubt about the future of the Dutch Grand Prix. The enormous popularity of Max Verstappen and the full house in the Zandvoort stands contribute to Formula 1 making use of a two-year option to extend the contract.
