At the same time, Mazepin is not ready to change sports citizenship and compete in motorsport under the flag of another country, as Russians Konstantin Zhiltsov and Robert Shvartsman did earlier.

“Hi everyone. I just wanted to correct the entry because several media outlets have reported that I refuse to speak under a neutral flag. This is not true. I said that I am not considering changing my nationality for enjoyment of playing. I was and still am ready to play in a neutral status and, in fact, did so in last year’s Formula 1 season without any issues,” Mazepin wrote.
