Guanyu Zhou’s contract with Alfa Romeo expires at the end of the season. The Chinese driver hopes his results will convince the team to sign a new deal with him before 2023.
Guanyu Zhou: “I’m in my debut season in Formula 1, so the team is constantly analyzing my performance. I get positive feedback – the team is very satisfied with my work. In turn, I am happy to work with them – I like it a lot.
The contract is not yet finalized, but I hope for good news. We continue to discuss my future – the situation looks promising, but we have to wait.
In the first year my job was to learn and improve, but at some point I want to fight for podium places and not just claim points. Hopefully it will happen someday, but it’s important to learn in the early years before taking the next step.”
