Japanese Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda will stay in “Alpha Tauri” for the 2023 season, according to the Italian team’s website.
“Yuki is a very talented driver, and this season he has improved a lot,” said Alpha Tauri boss Franz Tost. “The speed he’s been showing lately is a clear testament to his steep learning curve, which proves he deserves a place in Formula 1. I still expect good results from him in the last six races of 2022. A driver needs at least three years to fully master Formula 1, so I’m glad he had time to reach his full potential.
Tsunoda has been racing in Formula 1 since the 2021 season. The 22-year-old Japanese’s best result is a fourth place at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
This season, Tsunoda has scored 11 points and is 16th in the driver standings.
