Aston Martin drivers, sharing their impressions of the new circuit in Miami, note the traffic problems, which could affect the course of Saturday’s qualifying.
Sebastian Vettel (14th): “I think we started the weekend well, but it seems to me that we have to keep working with the settings and adapting to the track.
It’s hard, most of the corners are blind, so it’s not easy to overcome the traffic. This can be an important factor influencing the course of qualifying, especially the first part, when you need free space on the track.
Practice was interrupted by red flags on more than one occasion today, but we tried to adapt as best we could as it is clear that we want to do more laps on the new track. We still have a lot of work to do and if we can make progress we can hope that the chances of qualifying for the qualifying final will improve.”
Lance Walk (16th): “It’s always nice to come to a new track, and here in Miami they have built an interesting track that is not easy to drive. For example, the turn order from 4th to 7th is quite fun and you can attack there.
The training was interrupted by red flags more than once and this does not contribute to the study of the new track, but we did what we could.
The atmosphere on the track is saturated with energy, it’s incredibly cool. I’m looking forward to qualifying, it promises to be very difficult, because on a circuit like this you have to overcome traffic problems.
