The last day of Formula 3 testing after the end of the season was held in Jerez, Spain. As on the previous two days, the fastest time was shown in the morning session with MP Motorsport’s Franco Colapinto setting a lap time of 1:29.617 seconds.
The Argentine driver showed his best lap at the end of the second hour after the start of the tests. The session turned out to be rich in red flags – the marshals had to save cars from gravel five times. Adrian David, Max Esterson, Roberto Faria and Nicola Marinadgeli flew off the track twice.
The afternoon session went smoothly – the tests didn’t stop, but as soon as yellow flags appeared on the track when, five minutes before the end of the session, Brad Benavides hit the barrier in Turn 5. The rest of the racers worked on a long series of circles, the best lap at the start of the session was Taylor Barnard – 1:31.280 seconds. Nikita Bedrin set the fourteenth and fourth fastest times in the morning and afternoon sessions, respectively.
This marks the end of the 2022 Formula 3 season. The next time the riders get behind the wheel of these machines will be next year.
