Roger Federer promised Russell to attend the Grand Prix

The main event of the Laver Cup, a prestigious tennis tournament that took place in London this year, was the last match of Roger Federer, the famous Swiss who has repeatedly become the first racket in the world.

Federer turned 41 in August, it’s time to end his career and his retirement from the big sport was very touching. As Mercedes was one of the sponsors of the tournament, George Russell, a driver of the factory Formula 1 team, came to visit as a guest and the two athletes had a heart-to-heart talk.

After that, George shared some photos and admitted that meeting Federer made a strong impression on him: “It was great to talk to Roger Federer after the last game of his incredible career. He is not only one of the greatest athletes of all time – he is one of the nicest guys you can meet…”

During the dialogue with Federer, George invited him to visit the Grand Prix, and the tennis player cheerfully replied: “I know, I know, and now I’ll have enough time, so there’s no reason not to go to the races!

To be honest, I just want to relax for the next few weeks, which is great because I get a chance to somehow understand what’s happening, spend time with the kids and think about what I’m doing now has to do. Of course there are already some thoughts, but serious decisions still have to be made.”

In any case, it is quite possible that we will soon see Roger Federer in the Mercedes boxes again at part of the Grand Prix. By the way, he already visited the Spanish stage of the season in Barcelona in May of this year.
