Jehan Daruvala will test again with the McLaren team, this time in France at Circuit Paul Ricard. He has already tested last year’s MCL35M at Silverstone and Portimão for private testing in the summer, and this program is now continuing.
“Indian driver Jehan Daruwala returns to drive the 2021 MCL35M car at Circuit Paul Ricard as part of our previous car testing program,” said McLaren.
This year, last year’s car was driven by Americans Pato O’Ward and Colton Herta, as well as Spaniard Alex Palou, all in IndyCar.
Daruvala is spending his third season in Formula 2 and, one stage before the end of the championship, he takes the 5th line of the individual standings, but he could very well compete for third place. At the recent round at Monza, he won Sunday’s race for his first win of the year.
Jehan is a member of the Red Bull youth program but has been given a special permit that will allow him to gain experience driving a Formula 1 car while working on private testing with McLaren.
