Western countries urge players to leave Russia playing in KHL clubs
AT Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden urged local hockey players do not go to Russia. At the same time, the organization did not give instructions to those hockey players who already play in the Russian championship to leave the country.
“The decision to recommend is based on an overall assessment of several factors. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in close contact with the Swedish Embassy in Moscow and the Consulate General in St. Petersburg and is constantly assessing the situation.”
Earlier, the embassies of the United States and Canada appealed to their citizens in Russia with a demand to immediately leave the territory of the aggressor country.
In particular, Western countries are calling for athletes who play in KHL clubs to leave Russia. It is noted that hockey players may fall under the partial mobilization announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
